Meguro River Night Ambience

An art project exploring the relationship between the city and nature through sound, set along the Meguro River at night. Responsible for planning and production.

At its centre is KAZE — body, a sound installation by Ray Kunimoto. Metal plates sway and touch, translating the energy of wind into sound as the work travels by boat along a four-kilometre stretch of the river. Drawing a parallel between the body’s exchanges with its surroundings and the city’s continual movement, the work brings the often-overlooked river and the flows of urban life into visual and audible form.

The programme extended to a riverside sound installation, live performances on the water, and exhibitions at venues along the river. Connecting the river, parks, and neighbourhood spaces as sites for artistic expression, the project shaped a cultural experience rooted in walking, waiting, and listening to the waterside environment.
