Audio Technicalが運営するメディアAlways Listeningの企画として、新しいオールインワンのアウトドア用サウンドシステム「OTOJU」の企画、コンセプトデザインを担当。重箱という日本古来の文化をデザインソースにし、日本が誇るクラフトスピーカーの「Taguchi」の無指向性スピーカー、サブウーファー、アンプ、カスタムメイドのロータリミキサーなどをモバイルなケーシングでパッケージ。これをアウドドアで展開するだけで、均一なサウンドに包まれる音場が出現。これから様々な環境をリスニングスポットにする企画を展開予定。

As part of Always Listening, a media project by Audio-Technica, I was responsible for the concept development and concept design of OTOJU, a new all-in-one outdoor sound system.

The design takes inspiration from the jubako, a traditional Japanese multi-tiered food box, reinterpreting its modular and portable form as a sound system. OTOJU integrates omnidirectional speakers by Taguchi, one of Japan’s renowned craft speaker makers, together with a subwoofer, amplifier, and a custom-made rotary mixer, all housed in a mobile casing.

Simply bringing OTOJU outdoors creates a listening environment enveloped in an even, immersive field of sound, allowing the surrounding landscape to become part of the listening experience.

We are now developing a series of projects that transform a variety of environments and landscapes into unique listening spots.
